Why did my card payment fail?

If your card payment fails, follow the explanation shown for your purchase. Before trying again, check both your Ramp Network transaction status and your banking app.

What should I do next?

  • Payment declined: Check your available balance and card limits. Ask your bank whether it allows this payment, or use another payment method offered for your purchase.

  • Card expired: Use a valid card in your own name.

  • Payment unsuccessful: Read the explanation below the message. It may ask you to check your card details, complete a security check or try again after a technical issue.

  • Security check failed or expired: Follow the instructions to complete the check. If your card does not support the required check, use another supported card or payment method.

Only retry when the purchase has failed and you have checked whether a payment is pending or completed. If the message says your card or account cannot be used, do not keep retrying.

Why can my bank decline a crypto purchase?

Your bank may restrict crypto payments, apply a spending limit or require an additional security check. A card that worked before may still be declined for a later purchase. Your bank can explain restrictions on its side; approval by your bank does not guarantee that Ramp Network can complete the purchase.

My banking app shows a payment. Should I pay again?

Do not pay again until you have checked the existing purchase. A banking entry may be a temporary hold rather than a completed charge.

If your bank confirms the payment completed but you have not received crypto, contact Ramp Network support with your transaction ID. Have a PDF payment confirmation showing your name, payment date and amount ready; the existing support process requires a PDF rather than a screenshot.

Never share your full card number, security code, banking password or one-time verification code in a support message.

My bank approved the payment. Why did it still fail?

Bank approval is one step in the payment. A processing problem, a payment-provider decision or an incomplete security check can still prevent the purchase from completing.

A pending bank entry may be an authorization hold. Ask your bank whether the entry is pending or completed and when a hold will be released. A hold is not the same as a completed charge or a refund. If the bank confirms a completed charge, contact Ramp Network support with your transaction ID rather than paying again.

I didn’t receive my bank’s verification code

Your bank issues the code or approval request for a card security check; Ramp Network cannot send it for you. Follow the authentication instructions shown and contact your bank if the requested code or approval does not arrive. Do not share the code with support.
