Are my crypto assets safe if my account is locked?
Yes. Wallets created in the Ramp Network app are self-custodial, meaning Ramp Network does not hold custody of your funds or control your private keys. Only you retain complete ownership and control of your assets on the blockchain.
If your Ramp Network account is locked, your crypto is not lost or frozen. You retain full access to your funds and can choose between two paths:
Continue using the Ramp Network app to monitor your holdings and initiate on-chain transfers without transactional services.
Export your wallet to an external wallet application using your recovery credentials.
Continuing to use the Ramp Network App
When your account is locked, access to Ramp Network's custodial and fiat transactional services is suspended; however, self-custodial wallet tools remain fully functional.

Note: Before confirming an on-chain transfer, always verify the asset, network, destination address, amount, and applicable network fees.

Exporting Your Wallet to Another Application
Because your wallet is self-custodial, you are never locked into the Ramp Network app. You can export your wallet credentials (your recovery phrase or private key) and import them into any compatible third-party wallet (such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, or Phantom).
â
âHow to export and migrate your wallet:
Locate your recovery phrase: Open the Ramp Network app, navigate to the âMy profileâ section, and click on âRecovery phraseâ.
Back up your credentials: Write down your recovery phrase or store it securely offline.
Import into an external wallet: Download your preferred third-party wallet app, select the option to Import or Restore an existing wallet, and input your Secret Recovery Phrase.
Access your tokens: Once imported, you will have complete independent access to send, receive, and interact with your crypto across supported networks.

Never share your recovery phrase: Ramp Network support representatives will never ask for your Recovery phrase or private keys. Anyone with access to your phrase can take full control of your funds.
Keep an offline backup: Do not store screenshots or plain-text digital copies of your recovery phrase on internet-connected devices.
Verify network compatibility: When sending funds out from your wallet, ensure the receiving address supports the exact asset and blockchain network you are using.
